"Een Zee van Zes"
Alleen in de nacht.
Maanlicht over de zee.
Stilte. Doodse stilte.
Eenzaam en alleen.
Alleen met de krabben,
het zachte zeewier,
en de golven van de zee.
Moet ik de hemel werk gaan geven
De wind fluistert
de zee ruist "nee".
Gisteren was ik nog zes.
morgen word ik tachtig.
Langraam drijf ik mee
met de zee.
"A Sea of Six"
Alone in the night.
Moonlight over the sea.
Silence. Dead silence.
Lonely and alone.
Only with the crabs,
the soft seaweed,
and the waves of the sea.
Should I go and give heaven work?
The wind whispers,
the sea answers "no".
Yesterday I was still six,
tomorrow I will be eighty.
Slowly I drift away
with the sea.

The older I get, the quieter
beauty becomes.
Some memories don't fade.
They simply become softer.

Memories are not linear.
They are fragments.
Shaped by feeling.
Held by imagination.
